Reading is a Family Affair

Thank you to all the parents who came to read to the children.  They really enjoyed story time and its very exciting to the children when a parent comes to visit them during the day.

Dr.Seuss and Eric Carle Theme

The children enjoyed the story "Fox in Socks" by Dr. Seuss.  The explored Blue Goo which contains cornstarch, water, and blue food coloring.  They enjoyed the squishy goo which harden in your hands when you squeeze it and when you open your hands the goo feels like a liquid.

The toddlers enjoyed the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle.  They enjoyed the sponge stamping crafts made out of circles.  They loved painting with sponges and seeing the circle prints on paper.

The toddlers enjoyed the story "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?" by Bill Martin Jr/ Eric Carle. We made a torn paper art craft. We strengthen or fine motor skills by tearing construction paper and putting them on contact paper.  We incorporated the same colors as the animals in the book for color recognition.  We also played a simple matching game using the animals in the book.
