Sponge Painting with Real Broccoli































The children used materials such as construction paper, a piece of broccoli, and green paint.

The children enjoyed creating the broccoli's head by sponge painting using a piece of real broccoli. We talked about how broccoli looks and feels and explained that broccoli is a vegetable.

Skills Targeted: teaching color recognition, fine motor skills development, teaching the children to recognize vegetables.

Decorating Our Purple Shirts and Baking and Decorating Cookies

































This week we have been celebrating the Week of the Young Child which is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).  The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of  young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. The Week of the Young Child is  April 14–20.

The children enjoyed decorating their purple shirts using finger paint and glitter.  The also enjoyed baking cookies and decorating them using purple frosting and sprinkles.

Our grass is growing.

















Last week the children planted grass by using soil and putting grass seeds in the pots. Just after a week our grass is already growing. We are observing our grass and watering them so they can keep on growing.





Painting their Bumble Bee

















The children strengthen their fine motor skills by painting their bumble bee using black and yellow paint.

Recognizing the letter "B" for Bumble Bee






























The children recognized the letter "B" for Bumble Bee.  The children strengthen their fine motor skill by gluing and and putting strips on the letter "B". We were also singing "Baby Bumble Bee" and the children loved it.
